Jama Connect Review
Jama Connect is used in our company as a repository for requirements, product risks and test cases testing the requirements.<br>Jama helps to identify sub requirements that are not linked to any parent requirements. It also helps to generate the verification and validation protocols on the fly after allowing the user to pick the required test cases. Other custom reports are used to generate the requirements documents, risks documents and traceability documents that show the tracing of requirements to their test evidence.
- Identify orphan sub-requirements that are not linked to any parent requirement.
- Identify requirements with no test cases associated.
- Generate custom reports showing tracing between various levels of requirements and tracing of requirements to testing evidence.
- Concurrent revision of requirements, risks and test cases in different projects
- Syncing of deleted entities (like requirements and test cases) from child project to master project has to be done manually. There is no provision of automatic syncing of deleted entities back to master project.

Jama Connect Does the Job and is an Invaluable Resource
Jama Connect has been invaluable to our organization as a common place to host our product's specifications (user needs, system and module requirements, system interface), testing (test cases and traceability), as well as risk management documentation. All of our recent projects make use of Jama Connect and is used by the majority of our engineers.

- Ability to create and define items and relationships to enable custom workflows
- Versioning, keeping track of changes, and locking items
- Easy way to add comments for each change in the items
- Cross-project linkage and ability to share items between projects

We use Jama Connect as a requrements tool. Before we had not a well working requirements tool. With Jama Connect we had the chance to build it up propper and clean. Also the support was really helpful. The scope is to have a tool to show up requirements and all the related usecases like tests, etc.

Jama Connect - Excellent Tool for Regulated Products!!
We use Jama Connect to manage our IEC 61508 functional safety requirements that are used to certify our products. Jama Connect had an out of the box solution which allowed us to have tools to support all our artifacts and were able to further exploit its customization to support our companies unique processes. All safety and non safety requirements across every engineering function uses the tool in this use case.

A Top Pick For Requirements Management
We are primarily using Jama Connect as a system of record for our functional and regulatory requirements. Although we do plan to expand its use to include Failure Modes as well as Testing/Validation, in the future.

We are using JAMA Connect to track our requirements coming from Customer Requirements to our System Requirements and gather all Problems and Changes in development of Car Displays with it. We use it to get proof to our customers of following up on our tests and problem reports. This in conjunction with automated testing and integration of these tests with JAMA.

- Storing test results through the API into defined tests
- Ease of use and understanding for end-users
- Moving from Projects to Programs, were a program contains several projects. In the car industry you have a program which contains several projects (left/right side driving, with or without touch etc.) Still the same program.
- Login to simple no 2-factor authentication possible
- Login has no end-date so no warning of expiration-date on password.

Perfect for our needs
We use Jama Connect for model based system engineering to track our design inputs and outputs. It allows us to trace and manage requirements, risk analysis/DFMEAs, and ultimately test cases and V&V.
- Straightforward for standard use
- Romer has been great at helping us when we have questions
- Tracing is super easy
- Management tree keeps things very organized
- Customization of item types is not nearly as robust as other systems like Polarion.
- Polarion also seems to be better at showing upstream and downstream info directly on the item you have selected. Not just what the trace is, but actual content from that trace.
- There could be better information on how to create custom exports for those that don't know how to use mail merge.

Jama - Communication and Data Views Positive Review
Jama connect is being used for new projects in our organization and in particular, larger more complicated projects. Business issues to resolve: - requirement traceability - cross timezone communication - stakeholder input and acknowledgement - process improvement and requirement ownership
- Requirement traceability and relationship flow. There are many different ways to show your coverage, flow of requirements, and where they are in a larger perspective of the project.
- Review communication through the review engine is particularly well done.
- Ease of using the system - the ergonomics is excellent. My users have an easy time getting used to working with otherwise complicated structures and organization.
- The ability to pull information from different angles is excellent. The filters are very useful and other products don't compete here like Visure, Doors, etc...
- The initial dashboard is very limited in functionality and views. The bar charts and pie charts are useful but quite cumbersome given you have to specify your filters beforehand. This is very important in my opinion as this is the top level summary that 90% of your management will only look at.
- Coverage explorer - only 150 items at one time. This should be expand to all...
- Verification and Validation need improvement on being able to package and coordinate test runs, cycles, and platform variations of these items. This is a bit cumbersome and difficult for beginner users to get used to.
- It is very annoying and counterproductive that the users have to directly click "logout" to open up licenses. Admins can't boot people out of the system actively to fix if someone has to go home. You have to wait for 2hrs + for their license to expire.
- Create/Edit licenses not defaulting to collaborator licenses is also very annoying for admins especially during very large concept stage input/reading efforts into Jama.

We use Jama Connect to create, review, and manage relationships among needs, requirements, use conditions, design V&V test docs, and risks for medical device development. Having a centralized system to manage design input is critical and essential in establishing a robust means to conduct traceability and impact analysis.

Jama review
Jama is used for Requirements Management and Test Plan Management across a few different Business Units in the company I work for. While we've had a fairly long-term relationship with Jama (~8 years), we've only fairly recently adopted it broadly in the organization. Matters involving 'coverage' and 'traceability' have been a long-running concern in our development work and it is on these fronts that we want Jama to improve this for us.
- Getting Requirements "nailed down." The 'Review Center' is very popular with our users.
- The 'filtering' capabilities in Jama are not as good as they could be. In particular, the ability to "nest" filters is quite limited. I have certain seen much better capabilities in other tools. ('Cradle' is an example of a tool with excellent "nested filters" capabilities.)
- From an administrative point of view, the 'License' admin view is pretty disappointing. The particular thing that I'd like to be able to find out from it is the peak number of 'Float Creator' licenses in concurrent use on each day. If there's a way to get to that information, I haven't found it yet.

We use Jama to manage our system architecture. This includes all levels of requirements and those trace down to our testing protocols. Jama helps document and track our versions and changes. It also is our main tool for documentation and execution of the V&V process. In the next two quarters, we are also aiming to integrate our FMEAs into Jama Connect as well.

Product management (marketing) produces a new product proposal in Word doc. We take the document and pull hard requirements out to create an engineering requirements document, adding any missing requirements from the marketing document. Periodically, we export the Jama Connect requirements back to a word document for project management and engineering to work to. Eventually, requirements are exported as excel so the test team can import them into their test case database.

- Supports complete product (me, hw, fw, sw, etc.). Not just an agile sw tool
- Upgrading and managing server has been problematic.
- Sharing requirements (or inheriting) is overly complicated for our use.
Jama Connect is used across the whole organization for the purposes of requirements management and traceability. Different parts of the organization utilize Jama Connect more heavily or less heavily based on their individual needs. There is also some verification and validation testing that is managed and tracked through the Jama Connect software, but this is much more limited.

- The user interface can be cumbersome and difficult to perform certain tasks efficiently. In particular, mass editing of items is not easy to do--items generally need to be handled on an individual basis.

It's being used as the primary requirements management software for processes being implemented across [the] organization. Its primarily being used as a requirements management software for cross-cutting requirements. It's a tool to author, share, review requirements, as well as, ensure the traceability of those. Also, it enables [management of] the test suite for the requirements.

Jama Connect - By an MSP Engineer
It is used by our Engineering team and also with clients who we work with. Essentially, it helps us organize tasks and work items. We can break down larger projects in a different manner (agile, etc.) which allows us to clearly assign tasks and report back on items such as workload, backlog, assigned/unassigned, etc.
- Organize tasks and projects in multiple methodologies (agile, etc).
- Allow clear task assignments so teams understand their responsibilities and workload.
- Allow reporting of tasks/workload/etc so the lead/managers/etc can make informed decisions for our team.
- Integration with other tools is always something that can be improved, although Jama does pretty well with it.
- Allowing cross-organization task assignments to be easier. You can do this now but it would be nice to find a way to make it more seamless.
We started to Jama Connect since 2020 in some of the product development projects. Managing requirements (including review and approval) now becomes an easier task mainly due to friendly user interface, web based application which is pretty much like visiting a webpage, it is highly configurable, and all features highly linked and easy to navigate. Productivity is apparently improved! We enjoyed it, and now we are trying to use it to manage FMEA cross the entire organization for all teams.

A good experience so far using Jama Connect
Jama Connect is mainly focused on product developement in our company. My experience is a bit different since we use it for a customer project.

Jama is being used as a test management tool in my company. Am using Jama since 3+ years, and i can tell you that this was one of the best Test management tools I've ever used. Everything is so easy to understand and the interface is user friendly. Easy to use and can learn this tool fastly. I use this for Test plan, Test cases authoring, Test execution and results review along with the close out documentation.
I definitely recommend other organisations to use this tool.

- Re using process is easy
- Uploading the documents and files can be done.
- We can export our file's and TC's as well
- Adding new projects in jama along with the TC templates, can be done in minutes
- We can lock our Test cases and Results as well, which is a good one. So that our data is safe and secured
- Search results need be improve a lot. Once i tried to find a Test case. But it displayed more than 80k TC's from all the projects
- Creating filters are bit complicated. Try to make the process easy if possible
- While exporting the files, I've seen a common issue in all formats, where first 2 pages are blank. I don't know why, but it's waste of cloud storage. Even though it's "KB" it matters
- Some times I've seen one issue, in very rare conditions. I've authored the TC it took almost 5hrs to author. When i clicked on save & done button. It just kept on loading, i left it for hours. But sadly it didn't saved. 5 hrs of my work was wasted. This issue was faced by multiple people in my company
Jama Connect is being used as a requirements management tool at Varian. We're also using it for test management, DR handling, risk management, and document management.

- Having all resources in one place is great for having an easy-to-use and clean DHF
- Jama Connect is a database of information at it's core. It would be nice to be able to query it like such.

Good cloud-based requirement management and evolution solution, with room to improve processes
Jama Connect is the source of truth for requirements within the SKA Organisation (SKAO). We have used internally within SKAO to communicate between Engineering, Operations, and Scientists, but also to do requirement reviews with external consortia, to get their input. We are also using it for requirement flow-down and traceability, and using several report tools. With the SKAO being a non-profit organization, the main goal is delivering maximum value for the system being designed and later implemented, and having an agile way of dealing with requirements helps us.
- Having access to requirements from everywhere in the world.
- Requirement reports for document-centric parts of the development.
- Support for online reviews and discussions.
- Cloud-based installations don't have full access to all reporting tools.
- Online reporting templates are not too customizable.
- Glossaries are not first-class citizens in Jama; it should be possible to link to glossary entries directly from requirements, and vice-versa.
